Dark amber, naturally liquid and highly nutritious, this organic honey is obtained from the nectar of chestnut flowers, using bee-friendly beekeeping practices. Rich in minerals, proteins and vitamins, with antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties, it is particularly recommended in the diet of athletes, children and the elderly. It has an intense, slightly bitter taste and a balsamic, undergrowth aroma, making it ideal if you don't like honeys that are too sweet. It goes well with meat and cheese, plain yoghurt or creamy desserts. Excellent for sweetening coffee.
How we get it
We follow organic and bee-friendly beekeeping practices that focus on preserving the environment and protecting biodiversity. We breed our bees in full respect of their biorhythms and to protect them from disease we treat them with natural systems, without the use of synthetic chemicals. We use Kenya top bar hives, which replicate the hollow environment of the natural hive and encourage spontaneous bee behaviour.
We place the hives in unspoilt areas with spontaneous flora, away from sources of pollution from agriculture, industry or towns.
